Hyderabad, March 4 (PMI): On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Obstetrics & Gynaecological Society of Hyderabad, in collaboration with International Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics is organizing public forum and Walkathon on “DHEERA No To Violence against women” (VAW) on March 8 from 6.30 am to 8.30 am at HMDA ground, here.
Addressing media persons here today, Dr S. Shantha Kumari, president said the violence against women is a violation of basic human rights and dignity. DHEERA a campaign to stop violence against women was started by Dr S. Shantha Kumari in 2016. She said D Anasuya Seethakka, Minister for Panchayat Raj & Rural Development is the chief guest and Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary for Information Technology is the guest of honours of the Walkathon. Dr G. Surander Rao, Managing director of Yashoda Hospital and well-known doctors, Cine celebrities are participating in the program.
