As against the target of planting one crore saplings under GHMC limits in coordination with various departments, so far some eight lakh saplings have been planted. The GHMC would take the responsibility of getting four lakh saplings planted, Rammohan said. The Mayor said the colony welfare associations, SHGs and NGOs should take responsibility of planting saplings and their protection.
