Hyderabad, Sept.21 (PMI): IT Minister K Tarakarama Rao on Saturday said the State capital city Hyderabad has surpassed Benguluru in IT sector. He said the State capital also beat Benguluru on the issue of office space.
Replying to a question raised on the issue in the Assembly, KTR said the State had registered 17 percent growth in IT sector. He also said the total number of employees working in the IT sector in Hyderabad has reached 5.5 lakh now as against just three lakh before formation of the Telangana State. He said the IT giants like Amazon, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft and Google companies have set up their offices in Hyderabad due to the efforts made by the State government.
KTR claimed that they had created 12.67 lakh jobs through TSIPASS policy of the State government. He also alleged that neither Congress-led UPA government nor the BJP-led NDA government sanctioned funds for ITIR project. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declined to sanction funds for the ITIR project. He also said the State government was committed to create jobs for the unemployed youth and urged the Opposition parties to extend support to the State government.
