HYDRAA Clears Illegal Road Encroachments by Private School in Peerzadiguda

Hyderabad, May 21(Shoukat-PMI) In a significant move to protect public infrastructure and respond to civic concerns, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Wednesday removed illegal constructions encroaching upon a public road in the Peerzadiguda area of Medchal-Malkajgiri district.

The action was initiated following a formal complaint lodged by residents of the Yadadri Residential Colony, who alleged that a private educational institution, SAGE School — owned by Jaswanth Reddy — had encroached upon a 30-foot-wide road. This road is a crucial thoroughfare, connecting the Warangal Highway to over 80 residential plots spread across approximately 5.20 acres.

According to the complaint submitted by the Yadadri Residential Welfare Association, the school management had illegally merged multiple layout plots to create its campus, during which a designated public road was obstructed by construction activities. Residents claimed that the encroachment not only hindered free movement but also violated municipal layout norms and posed safety concerns for the colony’s inhabitants.

Responding to the complaint, a HYDRAA team conducted a field inspection and confirmed that encroachments had indeed occurred. The agency identified illegal structures that were blocking the access road and initiated immediate demolition to restore the original layout as per approved plans.

HYDRAA officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that strict action would continue to be taken against any individual or institution that illegally occupies public spaces. “Encroachment on public roads is a serious violation, especially when it affects connectivity and endangers civic safety,” one official noted.

The demolition was carried out smoothly with coordination from local authorities and police personnel to ensure there was no disruption or resistance during the operation.

Residents welcomed the swift action by HYDRAA and urged municipal authorities to monitor such violations more closely in developing residential layouts. “We thank the officials for acting promptly. This road is our only access point to the highway and essential services. It cannot be allowed to be blocked by private interests,” said a member of the welfare association.

The incident has sparked a wider conversation about illegal encroachments in suburban layouts, where private institutions and developers have often been accused of flouting zoning rules.

Municipal authorities have reiterated their commitment to preserving public assets and urged citizens to report any similar instances of encroachment.(pressmediaofindia.com)
