Hyderabad, October 16:(Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI) Widespread anger has erupted across Telangana over the government’s inaction against Raja Singh, accused of blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Protests have been witnessed in various cities and districts as Muslim leaders, scholars, and political representatives demanded immediate action.
On Thursday, a high-level delegation comprising prominent religious scholars, intellectuals, and political leaders met Telangana’s Director General of Police (DGP) Shwetha Dhar Reddy, urging the police to take strict legal action and arrest Raja Singh without further delay.
The delegation emphasized that any disrespect toward Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is intolerable and warned that continued silence from the government would not be accepted. They cautioned that failure to act promptly could lead to large-scale public demonstrations across the state.
The delegation included Maulana Muhammad Hissamuddin Thani Aqueel Jafar Pasha (Ameer, Imarat-e-Millat-e-Islamia, Telangana & Andhra Pradesh), Maulana Mufti Ghayasuddin Rahmani Qasmi (President, Jamiat Ulama Telangana & Andhra Pradesh), ‘ Maulana Akbar Nizamuddin.
Maulana Dr Nisar Hussain Hyder Agha(Shia Religious scholar), Maulana Hamid Muhammad Khan, Mufti Mahmood Zubair, Maulana Ahsan Al-Hamoudi, MLA Mubeen, MLC Rahmat Baig, and other notable figures.
The scholars reminded the DGP that several cases had already been registered against Raja Singh in the past, yet no decisive action was taken. They said such inaction not only undermines the rule of law but also emboldens the accused.
The religious leaders warned the government that the Muslim community would no longer tolerate any provocation or disregard for their religious sentiments and that continued negligence could spark a state-wide protest movement. (pressmediaofindia.com)
