Delhi Explosion Near Red Fort: 8 Killed, Dozens Injured; High Alert in Delhi, Mumbai, and UP

New Delhi’Nov 10 (PMI) A powerful explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station on Monday evening left at least eight people dead and over a dozen others injured, triggering panic across the national capital. The blast ripped through parked cars, with flames spreading to nearby vehicles.

Police, fire, and emergency teams rushed to the spot immediately. The injured were shifted to LNJP Hospital for treatment. According to the Delhi Fire Department, officials received multiple calls reporting a car explosion, followed by blast-like sounds and fires in nearby vehicles.

Following the incident, a high alert was declared in Delhi, Mumbai, and Uttar Pradesh, with security agencies intensifying patrols at crowded locations and transport hubs.

Senior police officials and the Delhi Police Special Cell have cordoned off the area around the blast site. Seven fire engines were deployed to control the situation.

While early reports suggest a possible terror link, authorities have not yet issued an official confirmation. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the explosion and identify those responsible. (pressmediaofindia,com)
