Hyderabad, Oct. 17 (PMI) Madhura Nagar Police have registered a case over false social media posts alleging that film actresses were listed in the Jubilee Hills voter rolls with altered details.

According to officials, the complaint was lodged by Syed Yahiya Kamal, Assistant Electoral Registration Officer for the 61–Jubilee Hills Assembly Constituency and Assistant Municipal Commissioner of Yousufguda Circle–19, GHMC. The posts allegedly circulated fake information, including modified addresses, photographs, and invalid EPIC numbers of certain actresses.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under Cr. No. 686/2025, under Sections 336(4) and 353(1)(C) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and began an investigation.

Election officials have urged citizens not to believe or share unverified claims related to electoral rolls and warned that strict action will be taken against those spreading misinformation that could impact the election process. (pressmediaofindia.com)
