Hyderabad, 16 October 2025: On the occasion of World Food Day, a food distribution program was held at Sweekar Upkaar – Academy of Rehabilitation Sciences, opposite Jubilee Bus Station. The event was jointly organized by Team Project Rise of the Bohra Community and the North Zone Police Department.
DCP, North Zone, Ms. Rashmi Perumal, IPS, attended the program and lauded the organizers for promoting compassion, inclusion, and social responsibility. Over 200 children from the Academy participated and received food distributed by the organizers.
World Food Day is observed globally to highlight the importance of food security, ending hunger, reducing food waste, supporting sustainable agriculture, and encouraging community efforts to fight malnutrition and inequality. Initiatives like this reinforce the values of sharing, caring, and collective responsibility, while strengthening the bond between the police and the community in humanitarian efforts.
