Women’s uplift declines after TRS formed Govt: Sharada

Hyderabad,  Telangana Congress Women’s Wing president Nerella Sharada today alleged that the uplift of women has declined after the TRS wrested power in 2014.

Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Sharada said the Congress encouraged women to develop financially by giving “Pavala Vaddi” loans to every woman through Self Help Groups. She said Congress party passed several resolutions in Wanaparthi at the Congress Mahila Garjana meeting. She explained that the Congress would extend “Abhaya Hastam” pension to the Asara pension beneficiaries; funds will be released for interest-free loans; the party would sign first on the file of regularization of employees; funds would be enhanced for construction of DWKRA Bhavans; Minimum support price will be extended to mirchi and turmeric crops.

Alleging that crime against women has increased, Sharada opined that attacks on the eves would decline only when they enter politics. She also demanded that the Centre introduce Mahila Bill ensuring 33 percent reservation to women in politics and  pass it in Parliament.  Reminding that assurance of AICC chief Rahul Gandhi that his party would give adequate recognition to hard workers, Sharada said the Congress would take a decision on giving tickets to the winning women candidates.
