Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh‘May 21 (PMI) In a chilling case of betrayal and deceit, a woman in Kanpur allegedly murdered her husband with the help of her lover, who is also her nephew, to continue their illicit relationship. She then falsely accused her neighbours of the crime, leading to their wrongful arrest. The truth, however, surfaced during a thorough police investigation.
The incident took place on May 11, when Dhirendra, a tractor owner, was found murdered at his residence. He died after being struck on the head with a heavy object. His wife, Reena, appeared to grieve deeply and accused their neighbours, Kirti Yadav and his sons Ravi and Raju, of killing her husband over a dispute related to tractor repairs.
Following public outcry and political intervention, local police arrested Kirti Yadav and his son Ravi. Reena claimed the attack occurred outside their home, supporting her accusations.
However, forensic evidence told a different story.
Bloodstains were discovered inside the house, and a bloodied bed frame was recovered. The forensic team also noted that the crime scene appeared to have been cleaned. The dog squad initially halted in front of the house, raising further suspicion.
Investigators later uncovered that Reena had made over 40 phone calls to her nephew Satyam on the night of the murder. Police then discovered that Reena and Satyam were involved in an extramarital relationship.
Upon interrogation, Satyam confessed that Reena had sedated her husband that night. Once Dhirendra was unconscious, she called Satyam, and the two of them struck Dhirendra on the head with the bed frame, killing him. They then cleaned the blood stains and, as if nothing had happened, Reena took a bath and went to sleep on the terrace with her children.
Both Reena and Satyam have been arrested. According to police officials, Dhirendra had become aware of their relationship, which likely motivated the murder. Efforts are now underway to release the wrongfully arrested neighbours, whose innocence has been established.(pressmediaofindia.com)
