Karimnagar, Oct. 17 (Telangana Today)
A woman in Karimnagar allegedly killed her husband by mixing blood pressure and sleeping tablets into his liquor before strangling him, police revealed on Thursday.
Producing the accused before the media, Commissioner of Police Gaush Alam said the main accused, Kathi Mounika, married Kathi Suresh in 2015. The couple had two children.
According to police, Mounika had entered prostitution around nine months ago and developed a relationship with Dommati Ajay. Upset with Suresh’s frequent demands for money, she allegedly decided to eliminate him on Ajay’s advice.
Mounika conspired with her associates Arige Srij Vemula Radha (both sex workers), Potula Shiva Krishna (a medical agency owner), and Nalla Devadas — to execute the plan.
Their first attempt failed when Mounika mixed 15 Viagra tablets into Suresh’s food, which he refused to eat due to its odour. In the second attempt, she crushed BP tablets (Telmikind-H80)** and **sleeping pills (Trika), mixing them into his liquor. After Suresh became unconscious, Mounika allegedly strangled him with her saree.
She then called her in-laws, falsely claiming that Suresh had fainted during intercourse. The family rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police initially registered a case of suspicious death but later uncovered the murder plot during investigation. Mounika and her five accomplices — Srija, Radha, Ajay, Shiva Krishna, and Devadas — have been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
