Hyderabad, Jan26 (PMI): The Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone team, arrested one person for illegally procuring and selling steroid injections used for bodybuilding and seized material worth Rs.1.60 lakh.
According to Addl. DCP Md Iqbal Siddique, the accused has been identified as Mohd. Faisal Khan (25), a furniture worker and resident of Kishanbagh, Hyderabad. The seized material included Mephentermine Sulphate injections (30 mg) – 133, disposable syringes – 100 and a mobile phone. The accused regularly visited a gym and learned about the demand for steroid injections among youth seeking rapid muscle growth. He allegedly procured the injections illegally and sold them at inflated prices without a valid drug licence or medical prescription.
Acting on a tip-off, the Task Force apprehended him near Asian Theatre, Attapur. During interrogation, he revealed that he had purchased the injections through Indiamart from Surat. Police warned that misuse of steroid injections poses serious health risks and said those who had consumed the drugs were counselled and advised to consult qualified doctors.
The arrest was made under the supervision of Inspector Ch. Yadender and SI Md. Jahed of the West Zone Task Force. (Pressmediaofindia.com)
