Hyderabad, May 24 (PMI): Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj has issued orders to grant a special casual leave to all State and Central government employees who exercise their right of franchise in the Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam Graduate MLC byelection on May 27.
The CEO instructed the district officials to make appropriate arrangements in this regard. He further said that as there is no provision in the law to grant a leave to private employers, the private companies and business establishments should take initiative measures to adjust shifts or come late to allow their staff to vote.
The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for Bye-Election to the Telangana State Legislative Council from Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ Constituency in Warangal, Hanumakonda, Mahabubabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapally. Jangaon, Mulugu, Siddipet, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts of Telangana State.
As per the schedule, the polling will be be held on May 27 from 8 AM to 4 PM.
In this regard, all the private managerments, authorities of business, trade, Industrial undertakings or other establishments, which work on the polling day, are requested to grant necessary facilities to their employees, workers, who are registered voters in the Graduates’ constituency, such as permission to attend office/duty late, adjustments of shifts; short absence of duty hours or otherwise so as to enable them to exercise their right of franchise on the day of polling.
