Vikarabad District Police Annual Report–2025 Highlights Strong Crime Detection and Enforcement

Vikarabad Dec 24 (Shoukat-PMI) The Vikarabad District Police on Tuesday released its Annual Report for 2025, outlining key achievements in crime detection, public safety, and law enforcement. The report was formally unveiled by District Superintendent of Police Smt. Sneha Mehra, IPS.

According to the report, 3,813 cases were registered in the district during 2025 (up to November), reflecting a marginal increase of 3.31 per cent compared to the previous year. Of the 25 murder cases reported, 24 were fully detected, with the accused arrested and remanded to judicial custody.

In crimes against women, the police achieved a 100 per cent detection rate in rape cases. All accused were arrested in the 63 rape cases registered during the year. Preventive efforts were strengthened through SHE Teams awareness programmes and special child protection initiatives.

Cracking down on cybercrime, police registered 184 cases and facilitated refunds of ₹91.76 lakh to victims through orders of the Hon’ble Courts. Under Operation Muskan and Operation Smile, 311 children were rescued and reunited with their families.

Under the NDPS Act, 11 cases were booked, 8.923 kilograms of ganja were seized, and 17 persons were arrested. In property-related offences, the recovery rate improved to 52.5 per cent, with stolen property worth ₹73.26 lakh recovered.

Traffic enforcement and drunken driving checks under the Motor Vehicles Act resulted in fines amounting to ₹3.61 crore. To enhance surveillance and crime prevention, 1,741 CCTV cameras were installed across the district.

The report also noted that courts awarded punishments to 462 persons during the year, including one death sentence, 13 life imprisonment sentences, two sentences of 10 years’ imprisonment, 21 sentences of less than five years, and 425 penalty cases.

In connection with matka and gambling activities, police registered 93 cases, arrested 604 persons, and seized ₹13.62 lakh in cash.
