Vikarabad: In a brutal incident, an elderly couple was murdered by their car driver. While the incident took place on June 12, it came to light on Sunday after the police arrested the accused.
The deceased couple was identified as Navratan Reddy (76) and Snehalatha Reddy (72). Going into details, the couple, hailing from Humnabad, left for Karnataka in their car on June 12. However, they didn’t reach their destination and the family members lodged a complaint with the Karnataka police.
According to the police, the car driver, Satish halted the vehicle near Anantagiri and killed them. With the help of his friend, Rahul, the cab driver later, dumped their bodies in a nearby forest and set it ablaze by pouring kerosene. The duo then absconded from the scene, taking away the couple’s money and gold ornaments. The Karnataka police, acting on the complaint recovered the bodies and arrested Satish. The accused, upon questioning, confessed to the crime and stated his reason as loan repayment of Rs 30,000.
