Hyderabad, Sept. 27 (Syed Hussain Ali Sajjad– PMI): Senior IPS officer V. C. Sajjanar on Saturday assumed charge as the new Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad. He succeeds C. V. Anand, who has been transferred and posted as Special Chief Secretary, Home Department, Government of Telangana.
A 1996-batch IPS officer of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh cadre, later allotted to Telangana, Sajjanar began his policing career as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Jangaon (Warangal district) and Pulivendula (Kadapa district). He went on to serve as Superintendent of Police (SP) in several key districts including Nalgonda, Kadapa, Guntur, Warangal, and Medak. He also worked in specialized wings such as CID, OCTOPUS, and APSP.
Over the years, Sajjanar held crucial positions as DIG and IG in the Intelligence Department, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad (2018–2021), and later as Managing Director of TSRTC (2021).
