Hyderabad May 4 (PMI): The Uppal Police and SHE TEAM Rachakonda arrested two Doctors and Managing Director of Hospital assisted by District Medical & Health officer who were involve in conducting illegal Prenatal sex determination examination assisted by District Medical & Health officer.
According to the Press Note of Rachakonda PRO three persons (i) Managing Director of Life care Hospital- Veliminati Anjaneyulu S/o Laxmaiah, MD of Life Care Hospital, caste: Rajaka, resident of H. No 2-2-183, Viajaypuri Colony, Uppal, (ii) Doctor – Dr. J Raghava Reddy S/o Govind Reddy, MBBS Doctor, caste: Reddy, resident of H. No 11-8-95, Kranthi Nagar, Colony, Saroor Nagar, (He is previously involved arrested in 1) Cr. No. 16/2018, U/Sec. 170,188,420 IPC & Sec- 3(2) & 3B of Pre-conception & Prenatal Diagnostic Technologies Act-1994 of Yacharam PS) and (iii) Doctor – Smt Dr. Shravani w/o Janaki Ram, Doctor, caste: Gouds, resident of H. No 1-6-197/48/B, Bapuji Nagar, Musheerabad, Secunderabad were arrested.
The facts of the case are that on 04-05-2020 at 1100 hrs received credible information that there are prenatal Sex determination tests have been conducting illegally on pregnant ladies at Life Care Hospital, Near Gandhi statue, Uppal by violating the government rules and regulations. Immediately on the receipt of information, Smt Pallavi, DY.DMHO of Medchal District, Sri Jayaram, SI of Police, Uppal PS along with two panchas with available staff one WPC of SHE teams Rachakonda commissionerate proceeded to Life Care Hospital and sent the said WPC who is now (6) months pregnant for sex determination examination as a Decoy into the said Hospital. She approached Dr. Shravani, for sex determination examination for which she demanded an amount of Rs. 15,000/- and on agreeing the same one Anjaneyulu who is the MD of Life Care Hospital has come with Dr. Raghava Reddy and conducted sex determination scanning over the said pregnant and disclosed the gender of baby as baby girl. As such, the team apprehended the said doctors and MD and seized Rs. 15000/- and also (i) Ultra Sound Scanning Machine, (ii) two (2) Wheelers, (iii) Three (3) cell phones from the scene in the presence of two mediators from the hospital and brought them to police station . Sri. Mahesh M. Bhagwat, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda appreciated the good work done by the She team staff and Uppal PS staff and warned the Hospitals managements , MBBS and Registered Medical practitioners Doctors to not to conduct illegal prenatal sex determination tests.
