Union Minister Kishan Reddy condemns attack on BJP State office

Hyderabad, Jan.7 (PMI): Union Minister and Telangana State BJP president Kishan Reddy today condemned the attack on his State party headquarters allegedly by Youth Congress activists.

In a statement, he alleged that the Youth Congress activists were behaved like goondas and rowdies and carried out the attack on the Telangana BJP State headquarters. “I strongly condemn the attack with  stones and sticks. This is an act of cowardice. I am warning that the situation will be serious if the Congress party, which is the epitome of such vicious politics, does not change its stand. It is unfortunate that the Congress workers attacked the gate of the State BJP office in the presence of the police. As Congress goons armed with stones and sticks reached in front of the BJP office and came along with the police and attacked the office and the BJP workers, the police played the role of a spectator,” he alleged.

Reddy said in a democracy, there was no room for politics of violence and physical attacks. “We are totally against this kind of politics. After the Congress government came to power in Telangana, such vendetta and hate politics increased in the State. In the past, the Congress party has a vicious history of creating communal riots to oust chief ministers of its own party. Within a year of coming to power, the Congress party is losing popularity due to its inefficient governance. It is indulging in such heinous acts out of impatience,” he alleged.

He warned that if such attacks are not stopped, the Congress party should be prepared for the situation that may arise after such attacks. “The BJP office was attacked in the presence of the police. The matter of hurting our workers will not happen without the knowledge of the Chief Minister. If the BJP workers lose their impatience and revolt against your actions, there will be situations where the few leaders of the Congress in the country will not be able to move  around. I would like to warn that the State government will be held responsible for the future consequences of such attacks in the State,” he warned while making it clear that their patience should not be treated as incompetence. “We don’t encourage politics of violence. We will not tolerate attacks on us. If you don’t like someone’s comments, just protest, but.. it is not right to physically attack the party office with stones and sticks. Even after former Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri tendered an apology for his remarks, is it right to attack with impatience,” he asked. (PMI)
