Two involved in online part time job fraud held’ Dcp Dara Kavitha IPS

Hyderabad, Nov.16 (PMI): City Cyber Crime Police arrested two accused identified as Krishna Babanrao Pawar of Kopargaon, District, Ahmednagar, Maharashtra and Ramakant Jivan Dhanawate of Kopargaon, District, Ahmadnagar, Maharashtra, who cheated innocent people on the pretext of Online Part Time Job Fraud.

        The complaint of Hyderabad stated he received a message from Telegram ID and offered part time job and followed their instructions and got registered into their website with user ID and password and created an institutional account.

Victim initially invested smaller amounts and got returns, later fraudsters insisted to invest higher amounts. The victim believed fraudsters and invested Rs Rs 1,61,378/- and fraudsters displayed him profits on the website/platform domain, but not allowed him for withdrawal of the funds invested by the victim. Then, victim realized that it was a fraud. In this regard, the Cyber Crime Police, Hyderabad registered a case in Cr. No. 2401/2024, U/s 66(C), 6(D) IT Act 2000-2008 and U/S 318 (4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2) BNS and investigated into.

The accused Krishna Babanrao Pawar and Ramakant Jivan Dhanawate were arrested on November 15, 2024 for colluding with Cyber fraudsters and sent a message from Telegram ID and offered part time job and insisted victim to follow their instructions and get registered into their website with user ID and password and made victim to create an institutional account in the website. Victim initially invested smaller amounts and got returns and believed fraudsters and invested a total amount of Rs. 1,61,378/-.

            The accused came to Hyderabad to procure/opening of the new Current Accounts and stayed at Gachibowli. On credible information on November 15, the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police apprehended them. The above accused were involved in 140 cases in all over the country, including nine cases pertains to Telangana. The police seized one Laptop, 10 Mobile Phones, nine Debit Cards, 11 cheque books, three Shell Company Stamps.

        Dara Kavitha, Dy Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, cautioned public not to believe the fraudulent phone calls and impersonating persons in online websites and also not to invest in unauthorized websites/domains or through any other means, which lures on the guise of high returns by investing little amounts by sitting at home, she added.
