TSRTC to operate 4,484 special buses for Sankranthi’ MD VC Sajjanar IPS

Hyderabad, Jan.5 ( Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI): The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is making special arrangements for people going to their native places on the occasion of Sankranthi festival. It has been decided to run 4,484 special buses to ferry them safely to their destinations. Of these, 626 services have been provided with advance reservation facility. These special buses will be available to the passengers from January 7 to 15.

            TSRTC MD VC Sajjanar  held a review meeting with senior officials and RMs at Bus Bhavan in Hyderabad on Friday to discuss the arrangements of special buses for Sankranthi, implementation of Mahalakshmi scheme and facilities to be provided to passengers.

            Speaking on the occasion, Sajjanar said that In the wake of the implementation of the Maha Lakshmi scheme, all arrangements were being made for Sankranthi in accordance with the rush of passengers. He also said that Special buses were being operated in crowded areas like MGBS, JBS, Uppal Crossroads, Aramgarh, LB Nagar Crossroads, KPHB, Boinpally, Gachibowli and other areas in Hyderabad. Pandals, shamianas, chairs, public address system, drinking water facility and mobile toilets are being set up for the convenience of passengers in these areas, he said.

            He said that Two DVM rank officers had been appointed as in-charges at each congested area and added that they would make available special buses to cater to the rush.

            He said that TSRTC was running special buses to different parts of Andhra Pradesh for this Sankranthi and added that the scheduled services to AP would run as usual. He made it clear that There will be no hike in bus fares for sankranthi and festival and special bus services will be operated at normal rates as in the past.

            He said that the Free  bus facility for women will also be implemented in palle velugu, express, city ordinary and metro express buses that run for Sankranthi. Women are advised to compulsorily take zero tickets and travel, he said.
