TS among seven States contributing for national growth: KCR

Hyderabad, March.27 (PMI): Telangana State is one among the major seven States contributing for the national development, according to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Speaking in the Assembly during a debate in Assembly on the Appropriation Bill of Rs 1.74 lakh crore on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said the youngest State was extending its revenue support to the Centre. “Our State was offering Rs 50,000 crore to the Centre and getting less than half of it i.e. Rs 24,000 crore from the Centre”, he said. KCR claimed that Telangana State, despite being youngest, was playing a pivotal role in nation building and getting less financial assistance for its flagship programs.

The Chief Minister also pointed out that only Telangana State was giving best salaries to its employees unlike other States and increased salaries of second ANMs in the State, he said. The Chief Minister also said it was only the Telangana State paying salaries to 2,38,068 employees by bearing the burden of Rs 1100 crore.

“It is for the Centre to take a call on contributory pension scheme (CPS) and the States have no hold on it”, he clarified. KCR also said the State cannot cancel it and will take steps for the welfare of the employees. Despite spending huge amounts for welfare, the Opposition was unable to digest the facts and was deliberately making false allegations, he fumed. (PMI)
