Hyderabad’16 August (ALI Abbas-PMI) On August 15, 2025,) a horrific crime occurred in Uppal, Hyderabad, where a five-year-old boy was allegedly raped and murdered. The victim’s parents, migrant workers from Chhattisgarh employed at a local timber depot, reported their son missing after he vanished while playing. This prompted an immediate police complaint.
Uppal police launched an investigation and reviewed CCTV footage, which revealed suspicious behavior by a fellow timber depot worker, a migrant from Bihar named Kumar (also referred to as Kamar or Qamar in some reports). Upon interrogation, Kumar allegedly confessed to luring the boy, sexually assaulting him, and strangling him to death. Some reports suggest the boy, identified in one account as Manoj Pandey, was enticed with biscuits before the assault.
The victim’s body was sent to Gandhi Hospital’s mortuary for a post-mortem examination. The police are continuing their investigation to ensure justice is served. The incident has sparked outrage, with the victim’s family and community demanding stringent punishment for the accused.
