Hyderabad’April 19 : With the April 23 MLC election for Hyderabad Local Authorities Constituency around the corner, political rhetoric has intensified in Telangana. TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud launched a scathing critique of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, accusing him of prioritizing religious and caste-based rhetoric over real development issues in the state.
Mahesh Goud: “Focus on Metro, Not Muslims”
Speaking to media, Goud condemned Reddy’s recent statements, alleging that the Union Minister has reduced his campaign to communal overtones.
“Kishan Reddy always talks about Owaisi, religion, and caste. He is a Union Cabinet Minister — he should raise developmental issues like the pending metro rail project,” Goud said. “Telangana is a secular state, and such talk is unfair.”
Kishan Reddy: “This is Dharma Yuddh”
Earlier, BJP leader G Kishan Reddy described the MLC election as a “dharma yuddh”, alleging an unholy alliance between the Congress, BRS, and AIMIM to defeat the BJP.
“All three parties are making efforts to defeat the BJP’s candidate. The Congress hasn’t even fielded a nominee because they want AIMIM to win. This is a political puppet show led by Asaduddin Owaisi,” Reddy said.
He asserted BJP’s determination to contest vigorously and called out what he termed as covert support among opposition parties.
