Hyderabad, June 1 (PMI): Finance Minister T Harish Rao today instructed agriculture officials to complete procurement of crops and called the farmers to get ready for crops in rainy season.
Attending a program he reviewed the paddy procurement, necessary action to complete the process. As 85 percent paddy procured test of 15 percent will be completed he said and asked the officials to fear up for monsoon season.
Harish Rao said that the officials will arrange 7 lakhs of gunny bags to be given purchase centers. He claimed that the Telangana is only the state to purchase total paddy in the country. Stating that measures to be taken to get sand Lorries to shift procured paddy to godowns
The minister asked the officials concerned to bring the hamalis from nearby villages where procurement and weighing of paddy was over. He directed the agriculture officials to make timely payment of bills to the farmers. Provide more hamalis, equipment and provide more facilities to speed up procurement. Telangana government is purchasing total paddy and the farmers avoid worry, he said.
The minister appreciated farmers for rise in production and assured to buy total crops . He asked to ensure sprinkler irrigation is followed in the villages. This time we have to grow crops in 250 acres in each village through sprinkler irrigation he directed. The government plans to cultivate about 25 lakhs of acres through sprinkler systems in the state.
For this the government will offer necessary support and encouragement he said. (PMI)
