Hyderabad, Sept 10:(Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI) Tolichowki Police cracked an automobile theft case by arresting one accused and apprehending a minor (Child in Conflict with Law), recovering five stolen two-wheelers valued at ₹4.5 lakh.
The case came to light when a local resident, Meer Mairaj Hussain, lodged a complaint on September 8 stating that his Yamaha R15M bike had been stolen from outside his house at Samatha Colony, Tolichowki. Acting swiftly, police registered a case (Cr.No. 151/2025) and began investigations.
On September 10, during routine vehicle checking at Tolichowki X Roads, SI G. Raghavendra intercepted two youths riding the stolen Yamaha bike. On questioning, the duo admitted to stealing the vehicle and further confessed to hiding four more stolen bikes at MG Nagar, Shaikpet. Police later recovered all the vehicles, which had been stolen by breaking handle locks and tampering with ignitions.
The arrested accused has been identified as Sankuru Vijaybhaskar Reddy (23), a food delivery worker from Rampachodavaram, Andhra Pradesh. The CCL is a 17-year-old working at a fancy store in Khairatabad, also hailing from Rampachodavaram.
In addition to the stolen bikes, the crime team also traced and handed over 10 lost mobile phones to their owners using the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal.
