Hyderabad, July 3 (PMI): The sleuths of Habeeb Nagar Police, Asif Nagar Division, South West Zone, nabbed three persons, who were involved in cheating innocent people in Cr. No 234/2024 U/s 406, 420, 467, 468, 471 read with 34 IPC, Sec 66 D of IT Act & Sec 5 of Telangana Protection of Depositors of Financial Establishments Act 1999 of PS Habeeb Nagar and seized Rs 23 lakh, one Lenovo Thinkpad, 15 Laptop Black colour, one Kingston Pen drive (64 Gb), 3 Mobile phones from possession of the accused identified as Mohd Nascer of Chandulal Baradari, Bahadurpura, Mohd Zafar Ahmed, of PNT Colony, Suncity, Bandlaguda Jagir and Mohd Ashfaq, of PNT Colony, Suncity, Bandleader Jagir.
Police said on June 17, 2024 they received a complaint from one Abdul Bari Rehan of Imam Residency AC guards, Shanthinagar, Aghapura, reporting that in view of Bakrid festival for HISSA purpose, he had consulted to Khidmath Foundation, at New Mallepally, backside Anwar-Uloom College. The foundation was running by one Nisar Ahmed, who is founder and had set up counters at different locations in twin cities, to collect money for HISSAs. Foundation assured to deliver the HISSA on festival day. As such he paid Rs 28,000/- for 10 HISSA to Naser, phone no. 6305794024.
On June 17, 2024 festival day, the person failed to deliver the HISSA to him and tried to call him on phone, but no response from him and not answering any calls.
The accused Al to A3 had created a fake app in the name of Khidmath Foundation this year in which they have collected huge amounts from the gullible public on the name of Share of Qurbani (Hissa) by making promises to deliver the share of qurbani (meat) to the customer at the time of Bakrid festival where the Muslims offer sacrifice of animal in the name of Qurbani. A-1 to A-3 have also involved in Cr. No. 518/2024 of Film Nagar PS in this issue.
The accused persons were apprehended by T. Ram Babu, Inspector, K. Shiva Kumar, SI, Sandeep, SI, and others under the supervision of D. Uday Kumar Reddy, IPS, Dy. Commissioner of Police, South West Zone and Mohd Ashwag, Addi. DCP, South West Zone and directions by Syed Fiaz, Asst. Commissioner of Police, Golconda Division. (PMI)
