Hyderabad’ 4 Sept(ALI Abbas-) In this regard, the Transport Department officials have recently introduced changes under which the prices of fancy numbers have been significantly increased. Earlier, to get the number 9999, one had to pay a fee of ₹50,000 and then participate in the bidding. But now, in order to obtain this 9999 number, one must first pay a fee of ₹1.50 lakh, and only then can they take part in the bidding.
Similarly, earlier the fee for numbers 1 and 9 was ₹50,000, which has now been raised to ₹1 lakh. For numbers like 3333, 4444, 5555, 7777, 8888, the fee earlier was ₹30,000, but now it has been increased to ₹50,000. Vehicle owners are expressing strong resentment over this arbitrary hike in fancy number fees. On one hand, interest in fancy numbers is already declining, and on the other, the rising fees are angering them further.
Application Process:
Those interested in obtaining fancy numbers must visit the Telangana Transport Department’s website. On the right side, under the Online Services option, a link for Number Reservation will appear. Upon opening it, the list of available numbers for that day will be displayed. To choose a preferred number, the applicant must enter the desired number along with the vehicle’s TR number. After submitting the details, the vehicle owner must pay the fee set by the department and then participate in the bidding based on the chosen number. First, the Transport Department’s prescribed fee must be paid. Applications can be submitted from 8 AM to 1 PM, bidding will take place from 2 PM to 4 PM, and by 5 PM, the number will be finalized and a confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile number.
