Hyderabad:Jan;17’2022-— With focus on improving the existing infrastructure and the quality of education in government schools, the State government is all set to launch ‘Mana Ooru-Mana Badi’ programme soon across the State. The State Cabinet on Monday approved a budgetary allocation of Rs 7,289 crore to strengthen government schools in the State as part of the programme.
The State Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan on Monday, took a slew of measures to strengthen the education system in the State. In line with the growing demand from parents, the Cabinet decided to bring in a new legislation for regulation of fee in private schools, junior and degree colleges as well as introduce English medium in goverment schools from next academic year.
A Cabinet sub-committee has been formed to study and prepare modalities for the new Act which will be introduced during the Budget session of the State Legislative Assembly. While Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy will chair the sub-committee, Ministers KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, G Jagadish Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav, S Niranjan Reddy, Vemula Prashanth Reddy, V Srinivas Goud, Koppula Eeshwar, Puvvada Ajay Kumar and Errabelli Dayakar Rao will be its members.
