Hyderabad, April 29 (Press Media Of India): Minister for Home Mohd Mahmood Ali, convened a meeting on Wednesday at his office with the Commissioner of Police, and DCPs of Hyderabad to review the situation in Hyderabad City in the wake of imposition of Lockdown during the day time and Curfew at night time to control Covid-19.
During the meeting, minister stated that the Telangana State Police Department has got good name in the entire country and many of the people friendly and policing initiatives of Telangana Police have been adapted and implemented by several other states of the country. He reiterated during the meeting that ever since the formation of Telangana State, much priority has been given to the Police Department by the Chief Minister by providing sufficient funds for improving mobility, infrastructure, Technology and modernization of the Department. Home Minister also stated that due to effective steps taken by
the Hon’ble Chief Minister, the spread of Corona Virus in Telangana State is contained. He said, Telangana Police has been appreciated by one and all for its People Friendly initiatives.
He said that Police Department has been doing a great job in effective enforcing Lockdown declared by the Government to contain the spread of Pandemic Corona and the services of the Police Department of Telangana State have been much appreciated from all sections of the society. He said while 99.9% Police are maintaining much restraint; assault/beating the people by 0.1% of Police Force while enforcing the lockdown rules is bringing bad name not only to the Police Department but also the Government. He said during the meeting that people are already facing problems and experiencing hardships due to Corona Pandemic, the people coming out for procuring essential requirements should be dealt with much refrain and patience properly counselled by the Police.
Home Minister also said that as the Holy Ramzan Month has already commenced, many people observe Fasting (Roza) and this should be kept in view. Mahmood Ali, issued instructions that the DCP concerned of the area must inspect atleast 2 Police Stations under his jurisdiction and issue instructions to SHOs and all the staff including Police Constables to exercise much patience while enforcing lockdown rules and avoid assaulting people. He also instructed that the DCP concerned should also conduct surprise visits to various areas of the Police Stations concerned and ensure that the instructions are followed by the enforcement staff strictly and see that no complaints are received.
Home Minister also said he will also conduct inspections to the Police Stations if needed. Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad Anjani Kumar, IPS, Deputy Commissioners of Police, P. Viswa Prasad, IPS., (South Zone), Kalmeshwar Singanewar, IPS (North Zone), A.R. Srinivas, IPS (West Zone), M. Ramesh Reddy, IPS (East Zone) and Addl. DCP, Syed Rafiq are present in the meeting. (PMI)
