Extensive Preparations Underway; Parade Grounds to Host Main Event
Hyderabad, May 23 (PMI)– The Telangana State Formation Day will be celebrated on a grand scale on June 2, as directed by Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao. A high-level review meeting was held on Thursday at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat with senior officials to oversee preparations.
The Chief Secretary stated that the main celebrations will be at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad. The Hon’ble Chief Minister is scheduled to begin the day by visiting Gun Park to pay homage at the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial before proceeding to the Parade Grounds for the formal event.
To ensure the smooth conduct of the celebrations, the Chief Secretary has instructed all departments to work in close coordination. Each department has been directed to appoint a nodal officer to streamline communication and execution.
The Police Department has been tasked with preparing a traffic route map and ensuring smooth parking facilities for guests at the venue, with adequate security measures along VIP routes. The Roads and Buildings Department has been directed to install waterproof shadings, barricades, and signage, keeping potential rainfall in mind.
Sanitation and drinking water facilities will be arranged in and around the event venue. At the same time, the Cultural Department has been asked to organize performances by artists to reflect a festive atmosphere.
To avoid power interruptions, the Electricity Department has been instructed to ensure a continuous electricity supply along with generator backups. The Information and Public Relations Department will oversee live telecast arrangements to ensure the event reaches a wide audience.
Senior officials present at the meeting included DGP Jitender, Special Chief Secretaries Vikas Raj (Roads and Buildings) and Ravi Gupta (Home), Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal (Revenue), GHMC Commissioner Karman, I&PR Commissioner Harish, Hyderabad Water Board MD Ashok Reddy, and Hyderabad Police Commissioner C.V. The Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of coordination among all departments to ensure the celebrations are conducted in a befitting and memorable manner.
To ensure smooth execution of the event, the Chief Secretary issued clear instructions to the concerned departments:
- Nodal Officers: Each department is to appoint a nodal officer for effective coordination.
- Security Arrangements: Adequate bandobust and traffic arrangements should be made along VIP routes. The police department has been instructed to prepare a traffic route map and ensure hassle-free parking for attendees at the Parade Grounds.
- Weather-Proof Infrastructure: The Roads and Buildings department has been asked to arrange waterproof shamianas, barricading, and signage, keeping the possibility of rain in mind.
- Sanitation and Drinking Water: Authorities are directed to ensure cleanliness in and around the venue and provide drinking water facilities.
- Cultural Programs: The Cultural Department has been instructed to organize performances by artists to create a festive atmosphere.
- Uninterrupted Power Supply: The Electricity Department is to ensure a continuous power supply along with generator backup.
- Live Broadcast: The Information and Public Relations Commissioner has been asked to arrange for a live telecast of the celebrations to ensure wide outreach.(pressmediaofindia)
