Hyderabad’ 02.06.2025(PMI) The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) celebrated Telangana State Formation Day with patriotic fervor and enthusiasm on June 2, 2025, at its head office.
The Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA Sarfaraz Ahmed IAS unfurled the National Flag and offered heartfelt tributes to Prof. K. Jayashankar and Telangana Thalli. In his address, the Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmed IAS highlighted the significance of Telangana’s formation, paid homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives, and elaborated on the historical context of the formation of linguistic states in India. He emphasized the proactive role of HMDA & making Hyderabad into a Global City, and in contributing to Telangana’s rapid urban development and its emergence as the most progressive and dynamic state in the country.
The Joint Metropolitan Commissioner also addressed the gathering and reiterated the importance of the State Formation Day. He spoke about the visionary leadership and sustained efforts of HMDA in enhancing urban infrastructure and planning, making Telangana a model state in terms of sustainable urban development.
The programme witnessed active participation from the Secretary, Directors of Planning, CGM of HGCL, Director of Urban Forestry, OSD (BPP), other Heads of Departments, officers, and staff of HMDA. Their enthusiastic involvement added to the vibrancy of the celebrations.
