Hyderabad: The rise in daily Omicron variant Covid-19 infections in Telangana has continued with health authorities on Saturday reporting 1963 positive cases out of which 1075 were from areas under GHMC. The health authorities have also reported two Covid-19 fatalities on Saturday, taking the overall number of deaths in TS to 4,054.
The active Covid-19 positive infections in Telangana, as on Saturday have surged to 22,017 out of which close to 17,000 active cases are from areas under GHMC.
Apart from Hyderabad, Covid-19 is also registering a significant increase in other urban centres of Telangana with authorities reporting 150 positive infections in Medchal-Malkajgiri and 168 cases in Rangareddy district on Saturday.
The health department conducted 53,073 Covid tests on Saturday out of which results of 7, 696 samples were awaited. On Saturday, 1620 individuals had recovered with a recovery rate of 96.31 per cent.
So far, a total of 3,05,73,637 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 7,07,162 have tested positive and 6,81,091 persons have recovered.
