Telangana not competing with Amaravati, but global cities: CM Revanth

Hyderabad, Jan.12 (PMI): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has informed that Telangana is not competing with Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh State, but with the global cities.

            The Chief Minister unveiled a book titled ‘Unika’, authored by former Governor and  BJP senior leader CH. Vidhyasagar Rao at a hotel here on Sunday.

            Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Telangana was competing with global cities like New York and Tokyo and as part of its endeavour, efforts are being made for the development of Telangana State.

            “To compete with the world, we need to get all permissions for Metro Rail in Hyderabad. Telangana has now fallen to ninth place in the ranking. Cutting across party lines, my appeal  to  Union Minister Bandi Sanjay and BRS leader Vinod Rao to  cooperate for the development of Telangana. We should work together for Telangana,” he said.

            The Chief Minister further stated that he has no differences with anyone and will  meet everyone for Telangana development.

            “I have already requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to cooperate in promoting Telangana a one trillion economy state in the country. I have urged Modi to sanction a regional ring road and regional ring rail to  develop Hyderabad a global city. Similarly, I have pleaded with the Union government to allot a Dry Port since Telangana does not have coastal region. I asked the centre to extend help to complete the Kazipet Railway Coach factory at the earliest,” Revanth Reddy said.

            The Chief Minister further requested Vidyasagar Rao to pursue the issue of submergence of land with Maharashtra and said that the experience and expertise of Vidyasagar Rao was very important in the use of Godavari water.

            “The Telangana government will seek Vidyasagar Rao’s cooperation for land acquisition near Thummadihatti,” Revanth Reddy said.

            He stated that lack of  ideology in politics is the main reason for the increasing party defections and leaders are changing parties for posts.

            The revival  of the ideological student politics is the need of the hour, Revanth Reddy suggested. (PMI)
