Hyderabad’Nov 15 (PMI) A major cyber breach has been detected on the official website of the Telangana High Court, after unidentified hackers tampered with several PDF documents and redirected users to an online gaming platform.
The incident came to light when High Court (IT) Registrar T. Venkateswara Rao alerted the Director-General of Police about suspicious activity on the court’s official website, tshc.gov.in, which is hosted by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) at BRKR Bhavan.
According to Rao, the website contains judicial information such as cause lists and case statuses, along with administrative updates including notifications and notices—most of which are uploaded as PDF files. On the morning of November 11, 2025, officials discovered that these documents had been manipulated by unknown persons. When users attempted to open them, they were redirected to an online gaming site named “BDG SLOT”, indicating a clear cyber intrusion and an attempt to deface the court’s digital records.
NIC authorities have begun an internal enquiry and are expected to submit a detailed report soon. Meanwhile, Rao requested that a formal complaint be registered and the matter investigated thoroughly.
Acting on the complaint, the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police registered a case on Friday under Sections 66 read with 43, 66(C), and 66(D) of the IT Act, Section 337 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and Section 3(1)(i) of the Telangana Gaming Act. An investigation is underway to identify the perpetrators behind the cyberattack.(pressmediaofindia.com)
