HYDERABAD’ 17 Dec’2023: In a open letter addressed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who offered to reinstate her in the police job, ex-DSP Nalini refused to accept the offer and said that she has now decided to dedicate her life to the preachings of Veda as per the preaching of Maharshi Dayanand Sarswathi.
Nalini was Medak district’s deputy superintendent of police (DSP) in 2009, when she resigned her post refusing to work under the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh government and joined Telangana statehood agitation.
“I can no longer continue working under an insensitive Government that cannot understand the aspirations of 3.5 crore Telangana people,” she wrote in her resignation letter. It was on December 15, 2023, that the new Chief Minister of Telangana offered her job back and asked the Chief Secretary to direct officials to reinstate her. In her letter she explained how she transformed from a police officer to a philosopher. “When the then Chief Minister K Rosaiah offered to reinstate me, I withdrew my resignation and joined back. That was the biggest mistake that I ever made,” she said. She said that for nearly one and half years the bureaucracy torchered her by entering bad remarks in her service file, extended her probation and singled her out from the promotion list.
“In fact, I was treated less than a Constable. None of the separate Telangana leaders helped me when I contacted them. I realised that jumping fulltime into the agitation was the only way forward and I resigned my job on November 1, 2011,” she said, adding that she launched agitation against the delay in the name of Sri Krishna committee. She said that the then Government suspended her, slapping severe sections. “Only the then Union Minister Sushma Swaraj who came to Nalgonda consoled me,” she said, recalling the sad turn of events
Nalini in her letter said that after 12 years, the Chief Minister was trying to exhume a dead case. “After so many years you are trying to do a postmortem to find out the reasons of my death,” she wrote. She said that she was under solitary confinement all these years as her close relatives deserted her when she needed them the most. She said that two years ago she was attracted to the preaching of Swami Dayanand Sarswathi and decided to follow his teachings. “Today my search is for a divinity thorough ‘Ashtanga Yoga’. I will dedicate my life to spreading Sanatana Dharma,” Nalini said.
She made it clear that she would not be able to take up any other alternative job offer from the Government. “ From criminology I changed my path to philosophy by the grace of Lord Shiva. Now, I become an Acharya. From a DSP to DNA. Now no one can susupend me anymore. This post is permanent,” she pointed out. She asked the Chief Minister to ensure that no one else in the Police Department was treated in the manner she was treated. “You (CM) have a spark and I hope that people will be happy under your governance. But if you still want to help me, help me through a fund that I could use for the establishment of a culture-based ‘Dharmic’ trust,” Nalini said. She concluded that she would like to meet the Chief Minister, but her hands were full in the translation and publication of Hindi version of her book ‘Vedam Yagnam’. She said that she would complete the work at hand and meet the CM
