Hyderabad’May 23(Shoukat-PMI) Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Dr. Jitender on Friday supervised a demonstration by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel, drawn from the Telangana State Special Police (TSSP), at the Boat Club near Hussain Sagar.
The SDRF teams have been constituted with personnel from various battalions of the TSSP to respond effectively during natural calamities, especially floods, to safeguard the lives of citizens. The Chief Minister formally launched the SDRF during the ‘Praja Palana Vijayotsavam’ celebrations held in December last year.
Personnel for the SDRF have been selected from the following TSSP battalions:

To ensure readiness, these personnel underwent two months of intensive training at National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) centres located in Cuttack (Odisha), Arakkonam (Tamil Nadu), Vadodara (Gujarat), Pune (Maharashtra), and Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh).
During the demonstration, the trained SDRF members showcased various life-saving techniques, including rescue operations for individuals trapped or swept away in water during flood situations. The demonstration highlighted the force’s preparedness and swift response capabilities.
