Telangana: Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) launched a three-day state-wide campaign

The Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TSNAB) launched a three-day state-wide campaign on Saturday in collaboration with the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and Transgender Persons.

Hyderabad ’24 June’2023 ( Shoukat-PMI) Telangana State Anti-Narcotics Bureau(TSNAB) launches the three-Day State wide Campaign in Collaboration with Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Senior Citizens, and Transgender Persons. This momentous campaign orchestrated by TSNAB , held at the Telangana State Police Integrated Command and control center (TSPICCC), aims to combat drug abuse and illicit trafficking, raise awareness, educate the youngsters and break the stigma – coinciding with the upcoming International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26th.

 

Series of events organised on this occasion engaged the youngsters and empowered them to join the fight against drugs. The diversity of activities included an open competition to name the campaign’s mascot, an oath-taking ceremony where young individuals enthusiastically enrolled themselves as Anti-Drug Soldiers,culturals, expo, a fireside chat session with Traithlete Mr.Neil D’silvha , and an enlightening panel discussion.

 

As the campaign gained momentum, Chief Guest, renowned Actor Nikhil, delivered a powerful speech emphasizing the importance of collective action in combating the drug menace and appealed the youngsters to abstain from drugs. “It’s not cool.”, he exclaimed. Actor Mr.Priyadarshi who graced the occasion regaled the audience with his witty style and urged to be vigilant.

Addressing the mass gathering, Mr.CV Anand(Director TSNAB & CP – Hyderabad) informed that the TS Government had been taking stringent measures. “I request all of you to join the group of Anti-drug soldiers under mission parivarthana and become members of the Anti-drug committees which we are going to start in all academic institutions across the state.” he added.

CP Anand thanked all the guests and appreciated TSNAB team for organising the campaign.Later he presented the mementos to the guests and other dignitaries.

The youngsters and all the attendees paid unwavering attention to the fireside chat with Mr.Neil D’silvha, Triathelete who had been vocal about his transformative journey of becoming a triathlete and a training director. “Peer pressure and the curiosity are the main factors that drives the vulnerable to try drugs.” He said.

 

“Explore what feeds your soul because unless you find it, distractions in life haunts you no matter how much you earn or what profession you take up.” He advised intensely and added to cutdown the screentime and fix to a usual healthy routine.

The panel discussion on “People first: Stop Stigma and Discrimination, strengthen prevention” brought together expert psychologists, academicians, professionals, and other subject matter experts who presented the medical facts, insights and shed light on intricate aspects – fostering a holistic understanding of the addiction issue.

 

 

All and all, the campaign was well received by the target group , the youngsters and left a good impact on them.
