Tehran warns of intensified strikes if energy sites targeted

TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran used only a “fraction” of its firepower in attacks on regional energy infrastructure after Israel struck Iran’s South Pars gasfield, and warned of “zero restraint” if Iran’s energy facilities are targeted again.

Iran’s ⁠attack on the Ras Laffan gas facility will cut Qatar’s liquefied natural gas export capacity by an estimated 17 percent, which could disrupt supplies to Europe, Asia and beyond.

Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior said the fire at a company warehouse broke out due to falling shrapnel resulting from “Iranian aggression”.

Civil defence workers have the fire under control “without any injuries”, the ministry said.

The Interior Ministry did not say whether the attack involved Iranian drones or missiles.

China ⁠is curtailing fertiliser exports ⁠to protect its domestic market, industry sources have told the Reuters news agency, placing additional strain on global markets already grappling with shortages caused by the US-Israeli war on Iran.
