Hyderabad, Telangana Dalit Women Network (TDWN) has demanded that the State Government take initiative for development of women and children belonging to Dalit communities. There are lots of gaps in the implementation of SCP and TSP, it added.
Speaking to mediapersons here today, Mary Madiga, Convener DWN, Dr Prameela, Member SARP, demanded that the State government earmark 50% of the budget for women development in the amount allocated under SC, ST Special Development Fund Act. They also said SC, ST Special Development Fund Act monitoring committees shall be constituted at State and District level in which NGOs shall be part and 50% shall be women members. The allocations shall be done for each and every department through a nodal agency, out of which 50% shall be cater for women development. Special funds needs to be allocated for the girls and women belonging to SC and ST communities only for creating health, educational, economic and social development opportunities.
