“Task Force” to check sheep units glitch: Talasani

Hyderabad,  Animal Husbandry Minister, Talasani Srinivas Yadav today said that the government is committed for the up-liftment of the weaker sections and encourage professional communities in the state.

Addressing a press conference at Secretariat here he said that a plan is on cards to set up a task force on complaints that some of the shepherds are misusing the sheep units received and selling them illegally to make money instead of rearing as part of the government scheme. The scheme is aimed to empower the Yadavas financially and any sort of such illegal activity will have serious repercussions he warned. He also said that the government will ask Chief Secretary SP Singh to constitute a task force to such irregularities if any and take serious action. The Minister claimed that they have pressed in officials on the job of distributing the sheep units in districts among the beneficiaries. The Chief Secretary SP Singh will be asked to constitute the Task Force Committee comprising concerned district collector, police officials, vigilance and others to check and monitor the scheme implementation.

The officials concerned distributed 1,13,358 Sheep rearing units consisting of over 23.80 lakhs sheep to the Golla and Kurumas of Yadava community so far. To feed the sheep we are also using 95 thousand acres to produce fodder crop, pressed in 100 Veterinary Mobile vans into service, and negotiations are on insurance companies are going on.
