Hyderabad; 28 Nov 2024 (PMI): The sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team along with Banjara Hills Police on credible information Apprehended (01) an Accused person who was found in illegal possession of a narcotic substance i.e., Dry Ganja from him and also apprehended 07 Consumers.
APPREHENDED ACCUSED DETAILS:
1. Santhosh Kumar Rout S/o Chintamani Rout, Age: 25 years, Occ: Swiggy delivery boy, R/o: Nandi Nagar, Road No: 14, Banjarahills, Hyderabad. N/o near Ram Temple, Samana (V), Kendjahar (D), Odisha State.
BRIEF ABOUT CASE:
The Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone, under the leadership of Inspector E. Jangaiah, along with the Banjara Hills Police, apprehended one person found in illegal possession of dry ganja and selling it to new customers for easy money. The accused, Santhosh Kumar Rout, a native of Odisha district, came to Hyderabad in 2021 and worked as a security guard and Swiggy delivery agent. However, his income was insufficient to sustain his livelihood. He came into contact with a person named Govind, a resident of Phulbani district, Odisha State, who is a known ganja peddler. Santhosh purchased approximately 9 kg of Ganja from Govind. He brought the ganja from Odisha State by train, to Banjara Hills where he was residing and he packed into small packets by weighing them and sold them to needy customers and made easy money from them. Based on a tip-off, the Task Force and Banjara Hills Police apprehended the accused person and seven consumers who had purchased ganja from him.

The above-mentioned raid was made under the supervision of Sri. YVS.Sudheendra Deputy Commissioner of Police, The Commissioner’s Task Force, Hyderabad City made by Inspector of Police Sri. E.Jangaiah, Sri. SI. B. Aravind Goud along with staff of Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Task Force team, and Banjara Hills Police of Hyderabad City.
