New Delhi, March 4 (PMI): The Supreme Court today heard the petition filed by BRS party working president KTR and party MLA Kaushik Reddy against the defected MLAs of the party urging the SC to disqualify them from their membership.
The counsel for the respondents told the SC that they did not receive any notice from the court in the case. A bench comprising Justice Gavai and Justice Augustine George issued notices to all the respondents, including the Legislature secretary in the case after considering the arguments of the counsel. It asked the respondents to file their counters in the case by March 22.
Later, it adjourned the hearing of the case till March 25. Arguing the case on behalf of the BRS party senior counsel Aryama Sundaram said they had lodged a complaint with the legislature Speaker against the defected MLAs of their party and added that the division bench of the High Court of Telangana reversed the verdict of the single judge bench of the same court.
