Hyderabad, May 6 (PMI): Former union minister Bandaru Dattatreya alleged that the State government failed to provide facilities in market yards resulting in heavy loss to crops. He expressed concern that there was a chaos in paddy buying system in market yards in the state.
Speaking to media her alleged that the government failed to provide proper infrastructure in market yards as a result paddy was damaged due to rains.
The state government has no planning and it should not blame centre for covering up its mistakes, Dattatreya said and demanded compensation to farmers who lost their crops.
Stating that the government should buy damaged paddy through agencies he
alleged that only 11 lakh mt paddy has been bought while 40lakh mt paddy was damaged in the rains.
The former union minister demanded compensation of Rs 20,000 for damaged paddy and Rs 30,000 for corn ( Mokkajonna) per tonne.(PMI)
