Kumram Bheem Asifabad | 26 November (Shoukat-PMI NEWS) Ahead of the upcoming Gram Panchayat elections, District Superintendent of Police Nitika Pant, IPS, held a video conference with district police officers and SHOs and issued detailed instructions to ensure peaceful and smooth conduct of the election process.
During the meeting, the SP emphasized that all police personnel must remain alert and perform their duties with utmost responsibility. She ordered strict enforcement of the election code of conduct across the district. Police teams at check posts were directed to coordinate with other departments and intensify inspections to prevent the movement of illegal cash, liquor and other materials meant to influence voters.
The SP instructed officers to enhance visible policing, conduct frequent blockades, and carry out continuous surprise checks. SHOs and VPOs were told to visit every village, inspect polling stations, and strengthen patrolling activities. Flag marches were also recommended in sensitive and problematic areas to instill confidence among the public.
Highlighting concerns over social media misuse, SP Pant said special vigil should be kept on inappropriate comments or posts that may provoke tensions. She also ordered regular inspections of lodges, guest houses, community halls and function halls to monitor the movement of suspects.
Issuing a stern warning, the SP stated that police personnel must stay away from political activities or election-related involvement. She said any negligence in duties or violation of rules would attract departmental action.
The SP further directed officials to bind over rowdy sheeters and those involved in controversial cases during previous elections, and to conduct counseling for them. She instructed that a strong police presence be ensured at all nomination centers during the nomination process beginning tomorrow.
