Hyderabad, Nov.10 (Shahwer-PMI): Sikhs will celebrate 555th birthday celebrations of Guru Nanak from November 11 to 15. “Sri Guru Nanak Devji, first Sikh Guru and founder of Sikh Religion, who spread the message of peace and communal harmony over the world will be celebrated in Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
To mark the celebrations of Guru Nanak Devji, Prabhandak Committees of Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Guru Nanak Marg, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj and Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad have joined hands to make the celebrations. In this context, two holy processions will be taken by Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad at 4 pm on November 11 and another from Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj at 4 pm on November 13.
On “Prakash Utsav celebrations’’ on November 15, a mass congregation will be held at Exhibition Grounds, Nampally from 10.30 am to 4 pm. Nagarkeertan will be taken from Secunderabad Saheb gurudwara on November 11.
Prabhandak committee presidents, S Baldev Singh Bagga (GSS), S Satvinder Singh Bagga (GSGSS) and general secretary S Jagmohan Singh (GSS), S Harpreet Singh Gulati, secretary and committee members said a colourful ‘’Nagarkeertan’’ will be taken out on November 11 at 4 pm from Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad and proceed via Manohar talkies, Clock Tower, BATA, Patny Circle, Kingsway, Monda Market, Alpha Hotel and reach Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad in the evening. Guru Granth Sahebji (the Revered Holy Scripture of the Sikhs) will be carried on a vehicle along with “Nishaan Sahebans” (Religious Flags) all along the procession.
Second holy procession will be taken from Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Ashok Bazar, Afzalgunj on November 13. Mass congregation will be held on November 15 at Exhibition grounds, Nampally.
A night Keertan Darbar will be organised on November 14 at Gurudwara Saheb Secunderabad from 7.30 pm to 10.30 pm. Another night keertan darbar will be organised at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj on November 15 from 9 pm to 2 am in which famous Ragi Jathas will recite Gurubani keertans.
