Hyderabad May’15 : Due to the lockdown in view of the Pandemic Coronavirus Covid-19 and respecting the guide lines physical distancing issued by the Government of India and the Telangana State Government the Shia Muslims have postponed the central processions that used to be taken out from historic Charminar on 20th and 21st Ramadan and conducted online majalis to mark the three day mourning of Matrydom of Imam Ali ibne Abu Talibas the son in law of Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W.A.S).
The city of Hyderabad which has been named in honour of Imam Alias by the Quli Qutub Shah Dynastic is known for its Azadari throughout the world. Let it be the Mourning of Imam Hussainas and the martyr’s of Karbala in the lunar months of Moharram and Safar and eight days of Rabbi ul Awwal or the Martyrdom of Imaam Alias on the 19, 20 and 21 of Ramadan.
There used to be large gatherings in Markazi Majalis that were organised at Kohe Moula Ali, Panjesha Wilayat near Gulzar house in the city and other places to mark the Martyrdom of Imaam Alias apart from the central mourning processions taken out from the historic Charminar on 20th Ramadan at 3:00pm and culminate at Masjid e Tahmaskhan near Kali Khabar by All India Shia Conference and other on 21st Ramadan from Charminar immediately after Fajr Prayers to Badeshahi Ashoor khana near Madina cross road by Shia Youth Federation of India in which thousands of mourners used to participate has been cancelled this year and postponed to next year in coordination and advice by the Telangana State Police, South Zone division.
Malis were held and live streamed to the community members through various social media platforms like facebook Live, Zoom and Free conference so that momineen can listen to them and participate in them online thus avoiding gathering and adhering to the physical distancing norms issued by the Government.
Mr Najaf Ali Shoukat (journalist), President Markazi Anjuman Matami Grouhan, Hyderabad Telangana State, said that the shia community members have abided the instructions and guidelines given by the government and the Commissioners of Police Hyderabad, Rachakonda and Cyberabad set for lockdown. He thanked them all for performing Majalis in their homes and through online platforms adhering to the Pandemic Coronavirus Covid-19 guidelines issued by the Government while mourning the Martyrdom of Moula Alias and also said Shia community members have always cooperated with Police and government and will be extending the same further.
I appreciate all the three commissioners and their teams for tremendous services they have been providing amid Covid19 lockdown in their respective commissionerates. And also Addl. DCP South Zone Sri. Syed Rafique and ACP Mirchowk Sri B. Anand for the making sure the people are following lockdown norms and staying safe at homes, said Najaf Ali shoukat. (Press Media of India)
