Women’s Safety Wing ensures safe celebrations; counseling sessions for minors planned
Hyderabad, (Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI) SHE Teams Hyderabad, functioning under the Women Safety Wing, cracked down on incidents of misconduct during the Ganesh Festival, catching 1,612 offenders red-handed at various immersion points and celebration zones across the city.
Of those apprehended, 1,544 were adults and 68 were minors. The offenders were booked under relevant laws, while the minors were counseled to prevent the recurrence of such behavior.

Out of the 1,612 cases:

70 cases were presented before the Nampally Court

The court awarded fines of ₹50 in 10 cases, ₹1,050 in 59 cases, and two days’ simple imprisonment in one case

1,444 offenders received strict warnings and were released temporarily, with mandatory recall for counseling along with their families.
Professional psychiatrists and counselors will conduct these sessions to address behavioral issues, promote awareness, and prevent repeat misconduct.
