Hyderabad, June 6 : The sleuths of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today caught the revenue inspector of Shakpet mandal Nagarjuna red handed while receiving a bribe amount of Rs.15 lakh from a person.
According to the ACB officials, the accused has demanded Rs.50 lakh from the owner of a piece of 15 acres of land located in Banjara Hills and asked him to pay Rs.15 lakh as advance. The victim has been identified as Syed Abdul. The ACB officials also raided Banjara Hills police station as the SI of the police station Ravinder faced allegations of receiving the bribe amount in the same issue. The officials were now questioning the SI after raiding the police station. Abdul filed a case against the state government after it declared his land as government land in the high court of the state.
The High Court gave orders in favour Abdul and declared him as the owner of the land. However, Abdul went to his land and removed the board claiming it to be the government land to take over the possession. A case has been registered against Abdul for committing the criminal act following a complaint by local revenue authorities. The accused has demanded Rs.50 lakh from the victim by promising him to do official favour and remove his name from the case along with Banjara Hills SI Ravinder.
