Set up Spices Board: Kavitha Urges PM

Hyderabad, TRS MP Kavitha today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and urged his support to set up spices board in Nizamabad district.

Along with TRS MLAs of her constituency, Kavitha met the Prime Minister and discussed on the spices board. The meeting gets importance as the Centre has already agreed to set up the Spices Board in Telangana. The MP submitted a few letters wrote by some chief ministers in favour of the spices board to Narendra Modi. She also urged him to direct officials to take immediate steps to set up the board for turmeric and all technical support.

Kavitha explained the problems related to Turmeric crop that yields in 10 months, lack of MSP and research and other marketing facilities. The existence of the spices board of national level will be immense help for the entire country as 13 states are involved in turmeric cultivation. She said that the Centre take immediate steps with regard to the spices board and ensure the farmers go in for better cultivation practices, processing and minimum support price to the product.

Later Kavitha also met Union Information Minister M Venkaiah Naidu along with TRS MPs and other leaders.
