Hyderabad’May 31 (PMI) Bharatiya Janata Party Former State Spokesperson, Telangana, Mir Firasath Ali Baqri, met with Director General of Police, Telangana State, Dr. Jitender IPS, on Friday to submit a formal representation requesting enhanced security arrangements for the upcoming holy month of Muharram.
The meeting took place at the Telangana State Police Headquarters in Hyderabad and was attended by Syed Rehan Hyder. During the interaction, Mir Firasath Ali Baqri held an in-depth discussion with the DGP regarding comprehensive security planning at Ashoorkhanas across the state from June 27 to September 3, spanning 68 days of religious observance.
The representation highlighted the need for deployment of specialized police forces such as the Task Force, Special Branch, Special Operation Team (SOT), and SHE Teams during the Muharram period to ensure peace, safety, and smooth conduct of processions.
Key events discussed during the meeting included the 10th Muharram procession on July 6, Arbaeen procession on August 15, Chup Taziya on September 2, and Eid-e-Zehra on September 3. Mir Firasath Ali Baqri emphasized the historical and spiritual importance of these observances and urged the state police to make necessary arrangements well in advance.
He also appreciated Dr. Jitender’s prompt response, patience in hearing concerns, and his commitment to maintaining law and order during significant religious events. “The DGP’s proactive support and open communication are truly inspiring and reassuring to the community,” said Baqri following the meeting.
The representation is part of Mir Firasath Ali Baqri’s continued efforts to advocate for communal harmony and ensure religious events in Telangana are conducted in a peaceful and organized manner.
